This is the image for the news article titled July 2016 NewsletterPlease enjoy the July 2016 edition of The Foothills Review Editor Dr. Amanda Sailors captured graduation moments from each of our seven sites. You will find a recording the honor graduate’s speech delivered at each graduation on our web site. On June 30 we had 113 graduates. We are anticipating at least 40 more graduates by the close of the summer. To accommodate these summer graduates we will host one more regional graduation on August 30, 7:00 pm in Athens, GA at the HT Edwards Building.

We feel very fortunate to have had such a successful first year. The collaboration between several lays of organizations - the State Charter School Commission, the Department of Education, and Georgia Corrections; the five school districts - Baldwin, Barrow, Clarke, Jackson, and Madison and the two prisons - Lee Arrendale and Burruss; and the 375 staff members led by the 14 co-site directors. We are all very different people with quite a range of experiences. We are held together with a belief that all students deserve a second chance to earn a high school diploma. We are using the privilege of flexibility that is allowed as a charter school to serve students who need us the most.

The best has just begun. Thanks for sharing our journey.
